Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III # 10 | Comic Review

I’m in a weird place reading Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III # 10. It was good, but it just didn’t hook me.

And, I’m fully convinced that it’s the Tarkin of it all. Look, I’m not 100% sure what it is, but I’m struggling to really get into their story.

This feels like a slight detour for The High Republic Adventures when I just really want to focus on the main characters. But, it’s ok. As I said, the story is good, I’m just not getting hooked by it for some reason or another.

I really like Tony Bruno’s art in the book. I really like the way he draws the characters. They really feel like people. The only character interpretation of his that I struggle with is Zeen Mrala. Something about it just doesn’t sit right.

In episode 414 of my favorite Star Wars comic podcast Star Wars Splash Page, they talked about the below panel and how it just exemplifies The High Republic Adventures. I couldn’t agree more. It’s just so… Everything. I love it. It’s perfect.

I still liked the book, and I love The High Republic Adventures. For and reason, the Tarkin Family Drama isn’t pulling me in.
