What if Kahhori blew our minds?: Marvel’s What If…? episode 6 review

Well, folks, there we have it. The best episode of Marvel’s What If…? is season two episode eight: What If… Kahhori Reshaped the World? The episode features the debut of Kahhori to the MCU. Not only is this Kahhori’s debut in the MCU, but it’s her debut in Marvel as a whole.

Kahhori is a member of the Mohawk tribe in North America and gains her powers through the Tesseract following Ragnarok in Asgard.

I’ll let The Mary Sue explain it better:

The episode takes viewers back to the Haudenosaunee Confederacy in the pre-Colombian era. Viewers get fully immersed in Kahhori’s story, with the episode playing out almost entirely in the Mohawk language. Before meeting Kahhori, The Watcher (Jeffrey Wright) explains that in this universe, the Tesseract fell to Earth and landed in the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. Viewers will later discover that the Tesseract shattered on impact, creating a magical lake that actually serves as a portal to another realm: The Sky World.

Throughout the episode, I felt like I was watching a mini movie. Despite the brief run time, I was engrossed in the story they were telling. The decision to also tell the story in the Mohawk language (and some Spanish) really added to it.

I don’t want to give any spoilers away for this episode, as I really think that everybody deserves the opportunity to go into this one and get the full effect.

This was tremendous, and I can’t give high enough props to everybody involved. I can’t wait to see Kahhori make her movie debut at some point. The future is exciting for this character.
