Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures is a lot of fun

When Star Wars announced that they would be doing an animated show set in the High Republic Era, I was excited. It was a great way to introduce that time period to a wider audience ahead of The Acolyte‘s eventual debut on Disney+ in 2024. Then, they said it was a show geared toward a much younger audience, and I have to admit that I was a little bummed but still hopeful. Once I saw the trailer for Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, I’m glad I stayed hopeful.

Clearly inspired by Spidey and His Amazing Friends, Star Wars has delivered a terrific show for kids to get a taste of the High Republic while importing solid lessons on sharing, friendship, and responsibilities to that age group.

The main Jedi characters of Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs are a breath of fresh air with their aspirations and positive energy. They’re still Jedi Initiates (aka younglings), so they’re not quite Padawan age where they will be out and about with a master.

Also, this household is 100% a member of Nubs Nation.

Look, sure, Young Jedi Adventures targets a younger audience, but it’s a lot of fun for all ages.

If you’re not a Star Wars fan, sure don’t watch. I would say that it’s not for you. However, if you are a Star Wars fan and especially a fan of the High Republic, you 100% have to give it a shot, even if you’re just putting it on in the background while you’re doing something else.

New episodes of Young Jedi Adventures will arrive on Disney+ on February 14! This week!
