Morning Show season 2 tackles COVID but fails to soar like season 1

I spoke about how I enjoyed season one of The Morning Show, so I was excited to start watching season two. The second season doesn’t hit the highs of season one, but it still has some good moments.

With season one focused so much on “#MeToo”, I was interested to see where season two was headed. Trying to piece together the timeline of the show’s release to real-world events, it made sense that we’d be dealing with COVID.

Season one ended with Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon) revealing that the network and Fred Micklen had known about the sexual predatory environment The Morning Show was fostering. Season two picks up months later! They just jump into the season with no real follow-up to the end of season one, so it was a little confusing until they started with the flashbacks explaining what happened in the interim.

If I’m completely honest, there were just parts of the season that were kind of boring to me. There were a lot of things that I did enjoy though. I think the thing that bothered me the most throughout was that Aniston’s character kept making the bad decision after bad decision every time. It was almost too ridiculous at one point.

While I didn’t enjoy season two of The Morning Show as much as season one, it was good enough to get me to tune into a season three. Based on the timeline, it looks like season three will have a lot dealing with the attempted insurrection by the Republican Party and Donald Trump in January 2021.
