The Bad Batch just isn’t missing this season. Through five episodes now, they’ve all been great. While I wasn’t 100% sold on quickly reuniting Crosshair with his brothers so quickly, I think they’re doing a good job of getting us there with the story.
First things first, let’s get the big news of this episode out of the way. THE TOOTHPICKS ARE BACK, BABY! After a dark and awful run of episodes where Crosshair didn’t have a toothpick in his mouth, the King is back in action this week. It’s good to see.
In a desperate need for information to crack Nala Se’s tablet that Omega took from Tantiss, Crosshair decides that he needs to bring the Batch back to the scene where he made his choice to turn his back in the Empire forever. (He does admit to Hunter that they betrayed him first.)
Everything that has been happening with Crosshair has been tremendous writing. He not only has “the shakes” causing his shooting accuracy, his genetic modification, to collapse, but he also is dealing with the trauma of learning the hard way that he’s disposable as a clone.
It was nice to get Echo back with Clone Force 99 for this episode. I know that it’s very likely that he (and others like Rex) will be in the show a lot more as the final season begins to wrap up, but it’s always good to see Echo.
More, please. The Bad Batch is a great show, and I will be sad when it eventually ends.
