Star Wars: The Bad Batch two-parter begins a dark(er) time for Captain Rex

This week we were provided with a two-part episode of The Bad Batch, and it was spectacular. The juicy episode laid the groundwork for the remainder of the series and put our heroes in a collision course with destiny.

I was terrified throughout these two episodes that they were going to kill off Crosshair in this one. I was worried that they would be giving him that “redemption” and then immediately gave him sacrificing himself for his brothers (and sister). Thank goodness that didn’t happen.

The episode opening with Rex and his clone crew was honestly a great surprise. I’ve been avoiding spoilers like the plague to the point where I didn’t even know this week was a double episode until I started watching.

The episode was great with Rex’s clone hero not fully trusting Crosshair yet while they’re all on the run from the new assassin clone.

Also. Maybe most importantly. Please do not make Tech that new assassin clone. Please don’t break my heart like that. Let Tech be dead. RIP Tech.

Noticeably, Rex getting Wolffe to question his own loyalty to the Empire was a great moment. The tension was high. This was, as fans of Star Wars Rebels know full well, is the beginning of the end for Rex’s merry band of clones. The next time that we see Rex, it’s just him, Wolffe, and Gregor left.

We don’t have a lot of time left with the Batch, so I’m going to cherish all of these moments. There are only 8 episodes left. Let’s ride.
