Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III # 12 | Comic Review

I liked the latest Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III # 12 book, because it features one of my favorite characters of The High Republic Era of Star Wars.

We’re still in the buildup for the Battle of Eriadu. Ram Jomaram is headed back to Valo to help free it from the Nihil and the evil Warden who has taken over.

We first met Ram in Star Wars: The High Republic: Race to Crashpoint Tower, so it was nice to see him return home again. And, it was nice to see that tower make a return!

Ram gets some help from our favorite pirate gang including Therm Scissorpunch, and he’s able to blow up Crashpoint Tower to deny the Nihilthe ability to call for backup.

You can pick up the comic here.

Ram Jomaram has become a favorite of mine.

When Daniel Jose Older first introduced Ram in Star Wars: The High Republic: Race to Crashpoint Tower, I wasn’t sure how to feel. He was a young Jedi, and he was completely different from all the other ones we’ve ever met. He didn’t crave adventure. Ram just wanted to work and tinker in the garage.

Ram’s continued growth and maturity throughout this publishing initiative has been great.

Seeing him going from somebody who didn’t feel like he was destined for anything great because he didn’t seek it out to the Scarlett Skull who saves cities and planets has been so awesome.

I think it’s safe to say that he isn’t going to be one of the Jedi that perishes in the story, so I hope we get stuff in the future about Ram as an adult. I can’t wait for more.

I really liked the artwork.

I really like this artwork from Caio Filipe. In this book, I feel like everything looked really… crisp. I love the way Caio has taken the character of the Warden and made him even more menacing.

Michael Atiyeh, as always, delivers the goods with the coloring in this book.

Does the Warden have a name? Is it “Warden”?

These are the things that I think about. I thought initially he was just going to be a one note character for the prison arc, but I really like how vicious he seems. He was a great addition to The High Republic Adventures.
