Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III # 4 | Comic Review

We’ll kick off today’s review of Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III # 4 with the now repetitive notice that THIS BOOK DOES NOT MISS. Daniel Jose Older is my favorite Star Wars author, and he always gives us that quality.

The story takes us to the Republic and Jedi assault on the Nihil prison ship, the Korvix Vorn. That ship is where we discover that a lot of “missing” Jedi have survived being the Occlusion Zone for the last year of Nihil rule. We knew that Farzala had survived, but now we get confirmation that Buckets of Blood survived and well.

Unfortunately, to give Farzala and Buckets a little more page time meant that Lula Talisola and Zeen Mrala were less of a focus this week. Keeping them involved allows the book to give some secondary characters some focus while still moving the plot forward.

I want to take a second and praise the art in this issue from Elisa Romboli. Every page is gorgeous, and all of the characters look alive! I love it. Just crushed it.

How good is this art? Let’s jump to digital page 10 where Farzala Tarabal was looking like an absolute snack. Goodness that young man grew up into a Jedi Knight.

This was a great book. As a High Republic completionist, being able to place the events of the books and comics together in my head is beautiful.
