The only Star Wars comics that I am able to read upon release at the moment are the two High Republic books from Marvel and IDW Publishing. This week, Marvel is back at it with Star Wars: The High Republic # 4, and they don’t miss, folks.
The book picks up right where we left off with Keeve Trennis, Ceret, Terec, and their prisoner aboard the Lourna Dee Ataraxia… Lourna Dee. They’re behind the Nihil Stormwall, and they’re looking for Keeve’s old Trandoshan Jedi Master Sskeer.
I’ve been wondering if we’re going to see the moment that causes Keeve to leave the Jedi order and become one of the Lost Twenty. There are only four books left in the comic run, and I honestly don’t know at this point. I’ve liked the way that she has been handled so far, and I trust Cavan Scott to stick the landing.
I always avoid the solicits for the Star Wars comics, because I know that I’m either going to read them or listen to the Star Wars Splash Page podcast talk about them. So, I don’t know if it was spoiled in the solicits, but I was completely stunned that OrbaLin made a comeback here. Bravo.
However, oh my god, the reveal at the end. Sskeer looked straight like the Incredible Hulk. That was scary and awesome.
The team on this book continues to put out a great story in their corner of the High Republic.
