Star Wars: Skeleton Crew: “Zero Friends Again” | TV Review

The latest episode of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew was fantastic. I love this show. I think it’s my favorite Star Wars show now. It’s so much fun.

I thought there was a chance that we were going to get the backstory for Jod Na Nawood in this episode, but we instead got everyone’s escape from the planet Lanupa.

Jod goes off for his pirate trial where he smooth-talks his way out of an execution and is set to lead the pirates to At Attin for the treasure. Also, Jod and SM-33 coming up from underground covered in gold jewelry was hilarious.

The rest of the episode is spent with the kids surviving, bonding, and escaping Lanupa. This was such a great episode for everyone but especially KB.

There’s only two episodes left! I can’t wait to see what happens, but I’m so sad that it’s almost finished.

KB!

Everyone has been patiently waiting for more backstory on KB, since she was the only kid that we didn’t know much about. Boy, did they deliver in this one.

KB is heavily augmented following an injury that they don’t go into much detail about in the episode. We learn that she essentially has a computer for a brain. This helps her have a photographic memory, but it also explains why she was hesitant to get into the spa in last week’s episode.

Wim and KB had one of my favorite conversations in the series so far. She reveals that she normally goes along with Fern, because she’s scared that Fern may not want to be friends with her anymore leaving KB with “zero friends again”.

At this point, I was on the verge of sobbing until Wim said that he and Neal would be KB’s friends. The small that crossed her face filled me with so much joy.

The Onyx Cinder is a beautiful ship now.

When I saw the “Previously on…” show the clip of SM-33 telling Wim not to press the hull-exploding button, I knew that someone would in this episode. Then Fern pressed it and the ugly, outer shell of the ship peeled away to reveal the sleek and sexy ship underneath, and I cheered. That was awesome. The “new” Onyx Cinder looked awesome.

Bryce Dallas Howard knocked it out of the park.

This is another excellent episode of Star Wars directed by Bryce Dallas Howard. She hasn’t missed on any of the episodes that she’s directed so far. She’s got to be putting herself in line for a movie.
