Star Wars: Skeleton Crew: “Very Interesting, as an Astrogation Problem” | TV Review

The latest episode of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew “Very Interesting, as an Astrogation Problem” revealed one of the big mysteries surrounding the planet At Attin.

Wim, Fern, KB, and Neel escape from Port Borgo’s person with the help of Captain Silvo Jod Na Nawood Crimson Jack (?). In the escape, we get a bit reminiscent of Poe and Finn escaping from the Finalizer at the beginning of The Force Awakens where they are tethered and struggle to escape. The eventually get free and head to meet one of Captain Silvo Jod Na Nawood Crimson Jack’s acquaintances.

Enter: Kh’ymm. She reveals that At Attin is one of the important planets from the Old Republic that was hidden due to it’s importance, but it is the only one of the nine that remains.

Learning more about At Attin warms my nerdy heart.

It was such a smart way that they did a better lore drop about At Attin. It’s an ancient gem of a planet of the Old Republic, hidden during the Old Republic Era. Of the nine planets hidden to protect it, Kh’ymm claims that it’s the only one that wasn’t destroyed.

WHOA!

This sets up some incredible possibilities for storytelling in the past several thousand years about At Attin and these other planets. I can’t wait to dive into more of this in the future!

Back on At Attin where the families are worked about their kids, the safety droids keep referring to “the supervisor” who seems to be in charge of the planet. Are we going to find out that the supervisor is a droid at some point?

The design for Kh’ymm was awesome.

She was so cool looking. At first, we thought she may have been like an owl/cat hybrid, but it looks like she is just more straight owl. Just amazing though, and I hope we get more in the future.

The escape from Port Borgo made me laugh.

When Jod and the kids were first trying to escape from Port Borgo, I thought “Oh, we’ve seen this before.” They were tethered similar to Finn/Poe, but then something hilarious happened.

As they started turning the ship, the tether dragged surrounding ships smashing them into other ships. Then, when they jumped to lightspeed, the tether snapped and wiped out so many people and ships. That was a terrific bit of work.

I don’t think we know Captain Silvo Jod Na Nawood Crimson Jack’s real name yet.

In this episode, we heard Jude Law’s character called three different names, and I’m not 100% sure that we’ve heard the correct one yet. Maybe Jod is his real name, but I don’t think he’s the actual Crimson Jack from the comics.
