X-Men ’97 trailer looks fantastic and I’m so excited

When I was a kid, I loved the X-Men. They were my favorite superheroes. Not only did I have the great X-Men: The Animated Series show, but one of my local movie theaters (we had two small ones until a Regal came in and killed them) had a X-Men game in their arcade area. It’s one of the games that we would always play when they were there.

One of my most anticipated Marvel projects has been the continuation of the X-Men series. While I can’t wait for the X-Men to officially enter the MCU, this is a pleasant idea to tide me over until that time.

The original series is very ’90s, and it totally works in its favor. It’s a weird mashup of great action, sex appeal, and fun. The new series looks like a fun continuation of where the original show left off.

I’m in the middle of my rewatch of the original show at the moment, and it is just as crazy as I remember. There are some really good episodes and storylines, but like any show targeted at kids from this time period, there’s some schlock.

I was so excited when they released the trailer for X-Men ’97. It looks terrific, and I fully expect to have very good writing on this show. I can’t wait to see what they do moving forward with some of the stories. Just from the trailer, it looks like we’ll be exploring Jean Gray’s pregnancy, the death of Charles Xavier, and Cyclops stepping up to lead the X-Men fully. Also, magneto is going to run everything?

Let’s go!
