Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III # 5 | Comic Review

I’ve long been wondering when Lula Talisola was going to have to make the big decision: The Jedi Order or her love for Zeen Mrala. We’ll, we wait no more. It’s here in Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III # 5.

The battle of Korvix Vorn was wild. Jedi near-sacrificing themselves so others could be safe and get a few more breaths in before being suffocated in the vacuum of space was a fun twist to the battle. Seeing Farzala Tarabel and Buckets of Blood risking their lives in order to save others was brilliantly illustrated by Elisa Romboli.

One of the highlights of the book was the full page spread of Qort and Lula rescuing Buckets of Blood. It is gorgeous. While Lula always looks cool in these books, Qort looks amazing here.

We’re left without an answer as to which Nihil definitely survived, as the ship exploded. My assumption is that Niv Drendow and Driggit survived? Right? That makes sense.

At the end of the book, Lula finally mashed her decision. While she’s been agonizing over it (and completely forgetting who she was at one point!), she’s finally come to the commission that her love love for Zeen outweighs her desire to continue being a Jedi. And, it sounded like a marriage proposal to me!

The real question for DJO and Elisa here is why is everybody so hot? Good grief.

The book is great as always. I highly recommend.
