What if Peggy Carter was super powerful?: Marvel’s What If…? episode 9 review

Season 2 of Marvel’s What If…? comes to a wrap with “What If… Strange Supreme Intervened?”. The episode was short on story but heavy on action, and it brought the story being told over the first two seasons to a solid conclusion.

Our Strange Supreme, who has been the one true through-line during the first and seconds, tells Peggy Carter that he is collecting “universe killers”, and that he needs her help catching one.

SPOILER WARNING

It’s Kahhori. “I’m not a universe killer. He is!”

Strange Supreme’s plan was to feed all of these “universe killers” into a forge to try and re-create his universe that we saw end in season one. He is doing it to resurrect Christine Palmer.

The fight between Peggy, Kahhori, and Strange was incredible. The weaving in of the various villains from season one in the battle was great and worked for me. Was it a little “overbooked” in wrestling terms? Sure.

At the end, the Watcher confirmed that Strange successfully recreated his universe but ‘he was never born into it and never will be’. Strange Supreme is no more.

Before taking Peggy back to her universe, the Watcher gives her a tour of the multiverse.

While I think the highs of season 2 are higher than season 1, the first season was better overall. Still, I had a really good time watching this season and can’t wait for more.

Plus, there’s no time to rest. Marvel has already released a teaser for season 3.
